Welcome to West Main Elementary School - Where EXEMPLARY is the EXPECTATION!

As a neighborhood public school, we are committed to delivering a quality instructional program to ALL student groups enrolled in our school. In order to meet the academic and personal needs of our diverse student body, we have developed a full offering of practices and programs. Our aim is two fold; we strive to meet the individual needs of each student and we desire to build a strong school community built upon academic excellence, self respect and discipline, as well as empathy and compassion for others.

Lancaster High School Student Wins 3rd Place in TAME State STEM Competition

Lancaster High School 11th grade student, Dewitt Hunter, won third place in the Engineering Math section of the 33rd annual TAME State STEM Competition held the YMCA Collin County Adventure Camp in Anna, Texas. Hunter, who is also a member of the LHS En gineering Robotics club, was one of 28 Dallas County students selected to participate in the state-wide competition sponsored by Raytheon. Hunter said that events such as this competition offers great field learning opportunities.

New District Anti-Truancy Initiative Removes Barriers for Student Success

Due to the receipt of the MetroTex Association of Realtors Charitable Trust Public Education Grant grant and Lancaster ISD Truancy Coordinator Dona Mitchell’s anti-truancy initiative, four campuses now have a new washer and dryer for teachers to utilize at any time throughout the day. Mitchell, who applied for the grant, believes that this is a major step in truancy prevention and will help teachers continue to remove barriers and fulfill the needs of students.
