Lancaster ISD announced its policy today for providing free and reduced-price meals for children served under the current income eligibility guidelines. Each school/site or the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by anyone on request.
This is the third year for this grandiose welcome and the first year that the Texas Education Agency Commissioner, Michael Williams joined the team of county, city, and state volunteers who lined the red carpets at all of the campuses entrances to personally welcome students and their parents to the start of the new school year.
For three years in a row, Lancaster ISD has invited state, city and community leaders and partners to join district and campus staff in greeting children on the first day of school as the students walk the red carpet prior to entering the school. This year, the Texas commissioner of Education Michael Williams has confirmed his participation.
